What do you do to sabotage your own happiness? If you focus on what you don't have, or even if you focus on what you want too much (because having goals is good)...instead of focusing on what you already have, you could be missing out! What are your thoughts while you are trying to go to sleep? What are your first thoughts in the morning when you wake? If you can literally "count your blessings" as you go to sleep (much better than counting sheep!) you might find that your dreams and overall sleep improve. And imagine waking up in a refreshed, positive mood!
Our biggest trap is "I will be happy when..." Fill in the blank. "I will be happy when I lose the last 10 pounds." "I will be happy when I get that promotion." "I will be happy when I get married." Whatever.
Stop. You just might be happy right now! Interesting, isn't it? Now that you realize you're happier than you think, what will you think about now?
